Please work through these tasks:

  • Log into Google Apps
    • Make a new Google Doc (similar to Word)
    • Make a new Google Slides
    • Make a new drawing
    • Explore all of the possible tools (like taking one each of all the sweets in the pick and mix)
    • ** Make a new mindmap (you will need to add the Coggle app).  Can you share a Coggle mindmap to work with someone?
    • ** In Google Drawing, Create a double bubble map comparing two ways of presenting work, eg
      • Word and Google Doc
      • j2e and Google Doc
      • PowerPoint and Slides

  • Starter – recap expectations for computing: agreement, routines, care of equipment. Watch the video – how many problems can you spot?
  • Practice logging into j2e/GA – use multiple tabs – keep them open
  • Access Google Classroom using class code.
  • Complete question assignments
  • How could we use Google Classroom in our learning?

How do I look after the computer suite? How do I treat my password?

  1. How are growth mindset and learning attitudes see in Computing?
  2. Stick login details in communication books.
  3. Spot the difference in the computer room.
  4. Practise entering/exiting routines. Explain computer room expectations.
  5. Log into j2e practice.
  6. Log into Google Apps.
  7. Sign up to Google Classroom.
  8. Demonstration: creating a new drawing in Google Drive and setting up a bubble map.

LQ: How do I create an effective PhotoStory?

  1. Find a picture for each idea (including the title screen)
    • Make sure you use – search tools – usage rights – labelled for non-commercial use
    • Search using more that one word to find the pictures you need
    • Save in your folder
  2. Now work through the stages of PhotoStory
    • Add your title to the first picture and your question on each of the pictures
    • You could  write your sentences in the record screen

  1. Decide on an aspect of the Ancient Egyptians
    • eg food, gods, clothes, farming, pyramids
  2. Can you write the title as a question?
  3. Plan some information to speak for your script
    • Could be in the form of a question and answer for each photo
    • Write it in your own words
