1 Opening your speaking file
- Open Audacity in icons 64
- Find your file – studentboard – ICT – Podcasting
- Listen to your speaking
- Save project as… into your own folder
2 Selecting backing music
- Go to Incompetech – Royalty Free Music
- The compose Kevin McCleod has given permission for people to use his music for free as long as they mention his name in their productions.
- Search for styles or moods that will suit your theme
- Listen to the music
- Download your chosen music to your folder
3 Combining the music and speech
- In Audacity, Open your music
- Select all (CTRL-A) and copy (CTRL-C)
- Go back to your speech in Audacity
- Make a new track
- Paste your music in the new track
** 4 Editing
- “Generate silence” at the beginning of your speech so that the music starts first and the speech starts a few seconds later
- Fade in the music
- Delete any extra music at the end
- Fade out the musc
- Balance the music and speech so you can hear the music but it is not too loud.
- Export the finished project as an mp3 into your folder

- blog to your learning blog
