We are really excited to have our blogs to be able to share the story of our school year. Keeping these blogs a safe and secure place is very important. Through the use of the blogs, the children in St Mark’s CE Junior School have the opportunity to develop their understanding of online safety and how to communicate effectively and behave well when online.
We have a few simple guidelines that we follow in order to keep our blogs safe.
- Children only use their first name when creating posts and commenting.
- In posts containing photos, no names are used in the post or comments that would identify people in the photos.
- Where possible, all people in photos should be asked if they are happy for their photo to be included in a post.
- Parents who leave comments are asked to use their first name only or, for example “Albert’s Mum” or “Juliet’s Grandfather” as long as their comments do not identify children in photos.
- All posts and comments will be moderated by a teacher before they are published to a blog.
- Always be respectful of other people’s work – be positive if you are going comment.
- No text talk – write in full sentences and read your comments carefully before submitting.
If you have any questions or concerns about our blogs, please pop into the school and have a chat with Mr Williams.
Guidelines adapted from those created by Tom Barrett, John Davies School,Nottingham. Thank you.
